Lynch was arrested after weaving lane to lane with two near collisions, and police say a chemical test showed his BAC was above the .08 limit. They declined to reveal the exact level. Lynch's checkered history with the law makes him a likely candidate for suspension. His license was revoked in 2008 when he struck a woman with his car outside a Buffalo bar. He was also suspended three games in 2009 after getting slapped with a misdemeanor weapons charge. If/when Lynch misses games, rookie Robert Turbin and Leon Washington are in-house candidates to fill in.

Later retested at the Alameda County (CA) jail, Lynch blew higher than a 0.08. "We think we have a really strong case," Golde declared. It's the attorney's job to think that, of course. Lynch's next court date is scheduled for August 14.

Lynch looked terrific in Seattle's second preseason game, carrying six times for 37 yards against Denver. He has cut some weight and appears quicker this season.

"He took a really good turn this week, rehab has been effective," said Carroll. "We think he is going to be fine." As mentioned previously, Lynch experienced back spasms last season and was fine a week later, before finishing the year on an absolute tear. While insuring him with a late-round pick on rookie Robert Turbin would be a savvy move, we're not adjusting Lynch's fantasy ranking.

Coach Pete Carroll expected Lynch to be "fine" this week, but the spasms have yet to subside. We could be looking at the dreaded game-time decision. All Lynch owners need to prioritize rookie Robert Turbin on this week's waiver wire. Should Lynch sit out Week 1, Turbin would be a top-25 fantasy option.

Lynch has barely practiced since his back tightened up following an Aug. 18 preseason game against the Broncos. On Wednesday, he merely participated in the walk-through. "The goal is to (play). But I stay ready," Lynch said. "So if I do, I do, and if I don't, I don't." Coach Pete Carroll hinted at a possible game-time decision. "We really won't know until the end of the week unless something changes," he said. "The process that he's gone through, he's aerobically in good shape, we need to get him back his football legs and get him enough reps to do that. ... I can't call it for you now."

It sounds like Lynch's back has ceased spasming, and the fact that he practiced on both Thursday and Friday is further confirmation of that. Owners who smartly handcuffed Lynch with Robert Turbin won't be in a bind, anyway. Lynch owners who missed on Turbin will have to decide whether they're willing to roll the dice on the still-somewhat-shaky health of a player in a 4:25PM ET game. We'll know with certainty whether Lynch is active at around 3:00 ET Sunday.

Lynch remains the better fantasy bet, and we feel pretty confident about him because he was able to practice on Thursday and Friday. He's definitely worth starting as an RB2.
